Tap the speaker icon 🔊 next to any phrase or word, in lessons, in Top Phrases, and in the flashcard box. Course content uses pre-generated neural voices designed to sound like native speakers. The audio files are bundled in the app and work offline. Make sure your device isn't on silent and the volume is up. You can also toggle sound effects in Profile under "Settings".
No. All of your progress (streak, learned words, and profile) is stored locally on your device only. There are no accounts and no servers, so nothing syncs between devices. This protects your privacy: no one but you can access your data.
In the Profile tab, "Delete account" removes all data of that profile completely and immediately, streak, flashcards and lessons included. You can then start from zero with a new profile. "Log out" only leaves the profile and keeps its progress. Your purchase stays in both cases, it is tied to your Apple ID.
You can start for free, the first sections are free. A single one-time purchase unlocks all four languages, each a complete course up to B1. It's not a subscription, you pay once: $17.99. You'll see the exact local price on the App Store.
On a new device or after reinstalling: open Profile and tap "Restore purchases". Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID and is restored at no extra cost.
Bol requires iOS 16 or later and runs on iPhone.
No. Bol needs no account, email, or password. Lessons, exercises, and voices work offline. Only the pronunciation check uses Apple's speech recognition (on-device where supported). We run no servers of our own and collect no data.
